When people think about leadership, it is easy to have this vague notion of someone at a senior level thinking strategically and determining what is going to happen.
Everyone just gets on board with what the leader wants to happen and great things happen –right?
Well in most cases probably not. Of course as a leader you need to bring thoughts, ideas and insights to the table in terms of overall direction of travel.
Yet often a whole lot more can be achieved if you involve your team in the process. In most cases you will end up with even better outcomes and more importantly greater ownership for achieving those outcomes.
So the question is, are you involving your team in defining outcomes and milestones are you missing out on a real opportunity to do so.
